Your application answers will serve as information for us to evaluate a fit for fiscal sponsorship at Tides and as the starting point of our future partnership if accepted. 

Please be prepared to provide the following information before beginning the application:

  • Mission and Programmatic Activity, including populations impacted, program locations, and target outcomes;
  • Organizational Information, including employee and office location information;
  • Financial Information, including:
    • Funding revenue and all relevant background information (grant proposals, budgets, and grant agreements if applicable);
    • A completed budget template found here;
    • For projects transferring from another fiscal sponsor, please also be prepared to include Balance Sheets and Income Statements for each grant expected to transfer to Tides;
  • Lobbying and Governance Information, including advisory board member names and titles as well as governing documentation if applicable.
  • Legal Information, including intellectual property, legal claims, litigation, and existing relationships.

You can use the "Save my progress and resume later" option to set up a unique username/login to save your progress and resume at a later time. 

Your application will not be officially submitted to Tides until you click the 'Confirm' button. You will have an opportunity to review and correct required fields and to print your final responses before submission. Office Locations
Please add office location information for your Project which includes only non-residential offices. In order to obtain general liability insurance converge for your project, we need to collect the following information for insurance review/approval. Tides is committed to the safety and security of all our partners and can confirm that this information will NOT be shared with any other party or used for any other purpose. Funding
Please submit your project’s budget for the calendar year in which you anticipate becoming a Tides project. Please submit your project budget using this template available here
Unrestricted Funding Sources
Understanding the terms of your organization's current funding commitments will help us understand that current work being transferred to Tides. For each source of funding you have confirmed, please submit:
a. Type of funding and amount (ie: foundation grant $300k; corporation sponsorship $25k; individual/family gift $10k).  
b. Funding or grant agreements (or similar documentation)
c. Associated budgets
d. Original proposal
e. Provide written documentation from your current fiscal sponsor or direct funding source to verify that funds are unrestricted and have no reporting requirements.

Lobbying and Governance

Lobbying
Lobbying definition roll over: Lobbying includes 1) communications with a legislator, their staff, the general public or the media, 2) about specific legislation (including legislative proposals), 3) for the purpose of proposing, supporting, or opposing or in any way influencing that legislation. Activities to influence ballot measures, initiatives and referenda are also lobbying. Communications discussing broad issues (e.g., climate change, racial justice, educational opportunity) that are not tied to specific legislation are not considered lobbying.

Governance

The Tides Center Board of Directors serves as each project’s official board but requires the delegation of certain activities to an advisory board. See the Advisory Board Responsibilities link here for further information.

Submission and Review Instructions

By clicking the "Review" button below, your form will first be validated that all the required fields have been completed.  If there are any items that require review, these will be highlighted in the form for your review.  After completing all the required fields, the "Review" button will take you to a page where you may review all your application responses and save a copy for your records.  


At the bottom of this page, there is a final "Confirm" button that will submit your application to Tides.  You will receive an email confirmation sent to the email address provided on page 1 of this application that your application has been received.
