About the Organization
The origins of the LeadersTrust are within the Haas Jr. Fund where the Flexible Leadership Awards program was born in 2005. Over time, our work expanded to include new foundation partners eager to catalyze investments in the leadership capacity of organizations and movements. In addition to our ongoing work for the Haas Jr. Fund, our other foundation partners include the Packard, Heising-Simons, Grove and Irvine Foundations.
Operating for years under the overall name, the Haas Leadership Initiatives, in 2021, we became the LeadersTrust. Our new name reflects our belief in the critical importance of trust in capacity building, philanthropy, and making change as well as the way our organization centers people in everything we do. The LeadersTrust continues as a fiscally sponsored social venture project of the Tides Center.
The LeadersTrust believes that a deep investment in the leadership and organizational capacity of change makers is critical for success. By delivering responsive, long-term, high-touch investment in the people at the heart of organizations, we unlock the radical imagination and inherent power of leaders, organizations, and movements to achieve transformative change. Our work builds a social change eco-system that is rooted in trust, where resources are invested more equitably, power is shared, and agents of change have the capacity, connections, and investment they need to reach their goals and thrive.
