Valeria Otarola is the Program Coordinator for the Policy Connect initiative. She supports members working in social justice and health equity issues by providing a platform for them to connect, build relationships, and discuss their work. Before joining Tides, Valeria worked at United Way in Southwest Florida, where she supported more than a hundred local and national nonprofits by working closely with donors and government entities. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Valeria has been involved in the nonprofit sector from a very young age and has had the opportunity to support programs in her hometown and internationally. Career highlights include traveling to Kenya to support refugee camps, supporting a Ghanaian nonprofit fighting for girls rights and girls education, and working at the Peruvian Consulate in New York City.
