The Community Spaces Network’s mission is to increase the capacity and effectiveness of the nonprofit sector by supporting the development and ongoing operations of multi-tenant nonprofit centers and other quality nonprofit workspace. The Community Spaces Network envisions a future when every nonprofit organization has access to the workspace it needs to support and sustain healthy, vibrant communities.

CommunityGrows is an environmental education program serving high-needs youth, especially those living in public housing in San Francisco. Youth acquire the necessary skills to live a healthy life through garden education, nutritious cooking and eating, and green jobs training.

Located in vibrant San Francisco, our non-profit research lab develops, supports, and conducts original research on the impact of authentic connection. We examine factors that promote feelings of connectedness and ways we can help people connect to themselves and each other. We’re happiness researchers who study the role connection plays across different contexts, such as resiliency in the face of life changes and significant loss, parenting and youth development, and health and well-being. We cherish the San Francisco Bay Area’s history as a hub of innovation, exploration, and social justice, and we work to build productive collaborations between our lab and our community of local innovators and social change makers.

Different research questions require different research methods to explore and answer them. We draw on both qualitative and quantitative methods. Because we always start with people’s lived experiences of connection, our approach is deeply phenomenological — a fancy way of saying we are guided by a commitment to listening to people’s stories and their understanding of their experiences. However, our work goes beyond simply describing the experience of connection, to understanding the role that it plays in our lives, especially as it relates to well-being. The complexities of people’s lives and experiences are often best understood through narrative methods. That said, quantitative methods also have a role in the work we do by allowing rigorous testing of hypotheses, such as whether a specific intervention or practice is effective.

We believe that authentic connection to ourselves and each other is the cornerstone of a life well-lived. Our mission is to help people understand the role that connection plays in well-being, and how to foster it in their everyday lives. The Costanoan Rumsen Ohlone Tribe are the indigenous people of the Cental California Coastal area and existed peacefully in this region for thousands of years before Spanish Missionaries arrived in the 1760’s. After years of enslavement under the Spanish missionary system the Tribe was forced into exile to avoid violent persecution by settlers and California State sponsored racist policies toward Native Americans. The Costanoan Rumsen tribe moved to Southern California and found work on the ranchos in 1864.

With ancestral lands ranging from San Francisco Bay to Big Sur and numbering at least 15,000 before European contact, the Ohlone people have been largely written out of historical accounts of California and erroneously recorded as extinct. Today the Costanoan Rumsen Tribe has over 2,000 members, with Tribal offices located in downtown Pomona, and are emerging to reclaim their cultural practice, language, and ancestral lands to the north, while letting others know of their continued existence, concern for the environment, and the desire for unity amongst all peoples.

The Council of Urban Professionals’ (CUP) mission is to connect, empower and mobilize the next generation of diverse business and civic leaders. Currently in our tenth year, we support the career progression of professional women and people of color in New York and Los Angeles by (1) delivering compelling skill-building programs focused on accelerating careers and enhancing visibility, and (2) by curating groups of top diverse professionals for impactful conversations and networking opportunities that result in community building, thought leadership, business development and provide a platform for recognizing diverse talent and inspiring service.

Our vision for the next ten years is to become the voice of diverse professionals and, through the delivery of talent development activities and compelling thought leadership, be a catalyst for the promotion of women and people of color into positions of leadership.

At the Data For Good Fund we believe that in order to drive social change, nonprofits have to understand and be able to talk about their data internally and externally.

So many nonprofits that have the potential to do truly game-changing work would be exponentially more effective if they used their own data – that they’re probably already collecting – to learn and drive decision-making and tell good stories.

The Data For Good Fund empowers nonprofits with an elegant data visualization tool plus training so nonprofits build internal capacity to capture, manage, and use their data in whatever way they deem worthy – whether that’s to improve, grow, or fundraise more effectively.

Our vision is an ecosystem of nonprofits using data to accelerate social change.

Hundreds of individuals facing the end of life are not alone as a result of a relationship with a Doula volunteer. Our volunteers form meaningful connections in one visit, over weeks and over years that touch both of their lives.

The Doula Program to Accompany and Comfort, a nonprofit organization, is the only organization of its kind specializing in training and supervising volunteers who visit individuals facing the end of life without family or friends.

In addition to Doula Volunteers visiting individuals weekly in healthcare facilities and at home, our specially trained Palliative Care Doula Volunteers visit several individuals in hospitals.

The Doula Program to Accompany and Comfort created the hospital based Palliative Care Doula Volunteer program in response to the needs of individuals with critical illness.

Our professional staff, specializing in end of life care, prepare volunteers through intensive training, ongoing guidance and continuing education. The organization also provides consultation on customized Program implementation, training curriculum and programming for professionals on end of life issues.

Early Care & Education Pathways to Success (ECEPTS) is a Sector Intermediary and Sponsor of Registered Apprenticeships for the child care and early learning (CCEL) industry. Since its inception in 2019, ECEPTS’ mission has been to advance the rigorous professional development and economic well-being of those who teach, nurture, and support young children and families. Primary strategies include creating and expanding Registered Apprenticeship models for the CCEL workforce, providing far-reaching field building opportunities, and advocating for policy and systems change to advance the economic and professional stature and sustainability of the CCEL industry. In California and nationally, ECEPTS has emerged as an influential leader across three systems: CCEL, workforce development, and registered apprenticeship.
