The Get Out And Learn (GOAL) program uses experiential, adventure-based learning to educationally engage youth who are at risk of dropping out of school. Through Get Out and Learn, students are more motivated to graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education and/or meaningful work. Most importantly, they leave the program with greater self-esteem and a sense of personal responsibility that lasts a lifetime.

The Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA) was established in 2010 by organizations from the fields of education in emergencies and conflict-affected fragile states, higher education, protection, international human rights, and international humanitarian law who were concerned about on-going attacks on educational institutions, their students, and staff in countries affected by conflict and insecurity.

GCPEA has a mission to catalyze enhanced prevention of attacks on education, effective response to attacks, improved knowledge and understanding, better monitoring and reporting, stronger international norms and standards, and increased accountability.

The Global Social Service Workforce Alliance works toward a world where a well-planned, well-trained and well-supported social service workforce effectively delivers promising practices that improve the lives of vulnerable populations. The mission of the Alliance is to promote the knowledge and evidence, resources and tools and political will and action needed to address key social service workforce challenges, especially within low- to middle-income countries.

For 25 years, GIRE has been dedicated to the defense and promotion of women’s reproductive rights in Mexico, within a human rights framework. GIRE utilizes inter-connected organizational strategies to achieve concrete improvements for our priority issues: access to contraception, access to safe and legal abortion, access to assisted reproduction, maternal mortality, obstetric violence and work and family life balance. The four strategies include: legal defense and accompaniment of girls, women and families; applied research; advocacy with key institutions and decision makers; and strategic communication to raise awareness and enhance advocacy and legal strategies. In addition, GIRE’s unique contribution and growing capacities include the incorporation of a reproductive justice perspective to our work. This perspective places reproductive health issues in the larger context of the well-being and health of women, families and communities.

Harlem Empowerment Project (HEP) offers adult education and career support to help program participants working toward toward financial stability. HEP achieves this through collaboration with job seekers, school personnel, vocational and community partners, and employers.

With an emphasis on literacy, education, and vocational skills HEP works with individuals to create a timeline to success that meets their needs. In this way, we empower communities for economic growth and social strength.

The Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) is a non-profit coalition of over 700 colleges, universities, hospitals, research labs, government agencies, and related non- and for-profit organizations, committed to diversifying the pipeline of faculty, staff, and executives in academia. HERC supports our member institutions in recruiting and retaining outstanding and diverse employees.

We believe that inclusive, equitable hiring and retention practices are not only the right thing to do, but essential to achieving the academic missions of HERC’s member institutions. Educating people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures takes a diverse academic workforce. HERC particularly understands the acute need to remove barriers to the recruitment, retention, and advancement of talented faculty and staff from historically excluded populations who are currently underrepresented in higher education.

The HOPE Collaborative envisions vibrant Oakland neighborhoods that provide equitable access to affordable, healthy, locally grown food; safe and inviting places for physical activity and play; sustainable, successful, local economies—all to the benefit of the families and youth living in Oakland’s most vulnerable neighborhoods.

HOPE addresses health inequities in Oakland’s most vulnerable neighborhoods through three overarching frames: The first frame is civic and economic community ownership, which encompasses the food systems frame and the built environment frame. HOPE selected these frames through participatory assessment and consensus-based priority setting driven by neighborhood residents, key stakeholder organizations and institutions, with the participation and support of local government. We approach this work through advocacy, engagement, and research strategies for all three frames. These complimentary strategies leverage the collaborative role. The community ownership frame represents the critical theory of change that drives HOPE. Structural inequities and social determinants of health that most severely impact Oakland’s vulnerable youth and families can change only when the people living under those conditions have both civic and economic ownership of the resources and decision-making processes that impact everyday life. HOPE will achieve community ownership through the following strategies:

(1) Community ownership of assets and resources required for basic needs.

(2) Community engagement including youth engagement, community relationships, outreach and advocacy.

(3) Capacity building, with education, mentoring and training for self-reliance, business skills, media training, food and nutrition.

(4) Education for urban agriculture and healthy eating

(5) Economic ownership including financial incentives and opportunities for locally-owned businesses; integrated ownership infrastructure and models for Oakland flatland residents; and a land tenure strategy for land acquisition and management for urban agriculture, community gardens, and rural farmland preservation in rural areas for production serving Oakland.

Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US) is dedicated to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in health care. Through outreach, education, research, and advocacy, we provide support to a community of diverse health practitioners working with underserved communities.
